West Bengal Table Tennis Association ( WBTTA ) since it’s very inception in 2005 has been serving the Table Tennis fraternity with full commitment, sincerity and dedication through it’s various meaningful activities. By virtue of it’s all round endeavour for the promotion of Table Tennis in the state, it has become one of the pioneer Affiliated Associations of Table Tennis Federation Of India.

 

The main objective of the Association is to create awareness about the game through different Schools, Colleges and Clubs in various districts and also nurture the upcoming and talented players to help them perform both nationally and Internationally. WBTTA has been engaged in promoting Table Tennis in various revenue districts of the state through it’s seventeen affiliated districts.

Coaching and Tournament being our main thrust areas, we have been organizing Coaching Camps in different districts for the purpose of creating awareness about the game and at the same time, centralized coaching Camps are being organised for the advanced players. Long term Camps are being conducted in certain districts. Various categories of Tournaments for different Age Categories are being organized on regular basis We have also taken a noble project of supporting the deserving districts in terms of providing Coaches, Equipments and even financial assistance.

We also do counselling of the players for their psychological and mental development. Workshops and training for the Coaches and the technical officials are being conducted on a regular basis. WBTTA has organized International and National Tournaments Like World Junior Circuit in 2006,four times National ranking Table Tennis Championships ( East Zone ) in a befitting manner. We have successfully organised Bengal Premier League for two Consecutive Years. We can boast of some of the players who have been in the limelight nationally as well as internationally. Soumyodep Roy, Saurav Chakraborty, Anirban Nundy, Poulomi Ghatak and Mouma Das are the names to reckon with in the Table Tennis scenario in India.

We expect to see some more players in near future who will be the product of our integrated coaching approach. We have designed the website in such a way that with a click of the mouse, the Players, Guardians and the Table Tennis lovers will be empowered to have easy access to quality information on Table Tennis.
